Only chumps pay full price for a lift ticket. Go to the resort's web site and look for special deals like locals day, seniors day, multi day deals, etc. These are usually available during the week, never on weekends or holidays. Many resorts give free tickets to people who volunteer to help with races and other events. Usually you get a ticket for the day you work plus one additional ticket. If you are a skilled skier and have advanced first aid training you can join the ski patrol. Most patrollers are volunteers but they get a free season pass for themselves and their dependents. Paid patrollers don't make much money but still get the passes for themselves and their families.

Yeah, buy your equipment at ski swaps, and buy your seasons pass in the spring (before the season starts) and you get get everything CHEAP. I pay 1/2 the price for my seasons pass as what I would in the fall/winter.

Simple answer is - NO !

Skiing is expensive and will keep getting more expensive every year. Many low altitude resorts will have to close, leaving less resorts to ski in, reducing choice and competition, and increasing prices.

You should buy your own equipment so you don't have to rent every time.
