I am looking to book a ski holiday in Colorado and buy the Epic pass to ski Vail, A-Basin, Beaver Creek etc. As I only have the opportunity to ski commencing the second week of december, I am wondering what the historical averages are when it relates to:
1 Weather and the average amount of snow on the ground for these areas.
2 Amount of available ski terrain that could be open during this time frame.
I do understand that a lot of what I am asking is related to snow conditions but any perspective on these questions are appreciated.

The Colorado Pass is definitely a better price but it isn't sold online since the resort parent company probably wants people coming from out of state to pony up for the more expensive Epic Pass which IS sold online.

However I bought my CO Pass last month in person at a sporting goods store here and the ready-to-use pass was issued to me on the spot.

Here's a list of retail locations which sell the CO Pass

Second week of december is historically awesome skiing. Great snow, all of the mountains are almost completely open, and it usually dumps around the first or second week of that month. It's already been a good pre-season, last year there wasn't an inch of snow on the peaks throughout November, and I was skiing powder December 1st. This year it's looked like the middle of winter in the mountains since Oct 15th.

Temperatures are in the teens and twenties F, it's a good time to ski. There will be areas of the mountains --especially Vail and BC because of their lower elevations -- that are not open.

you don't need the epic pass if you're just skiing a week. That's 100 extra bucks for unlimited skiing at BC/Vail, while the $440 Colorado Pass offers the same thing, just 10 days at BC/Vail
